friend ~ The Shabby Tea Room #3
This weeks challenge at The Shabby Tea Room was to create a project of any kind using your scraps. My scrap room is filled with paper, buttons, crocheted trim, ribbon, flowers, etc., etc., etc. I have so much (s)crap that I could create a card for everyone in our town and still have plenty left over!! :) So, it was no challenge for me to create something using scraps - just a challenge putting it all together.
The paper (my goal is to savor every yummy morsel) and flower used are from Prima, rubberstamped image from Basic Grey, rubberstamped sentiment and twine from Papertrey Ink, decorative stick pin from Maya Road, ink from Tim Holtz, glitter from Martha Stewart, misc. crocheted trim, rhinestone adhesives, and Cabbage Roses ribbon.
I hope you all have a great week - and just remember every scrap counts! ;) Cathy xx

Soar - CPS Sketch #160
Happy Sunday - I'm not sure what happened to our sunshine, but it happens to be another gloomy wet day and I know that the weather will certainly take a turn for the good as soon as the work week is in full swing! So what better way to spend your day than to be creating a card based off of CPS's sketches? This weeks sketch was a simple sketch to work off. Again, one that could be dress up or down. I decided to dress this one up as well. :)
This card was created using paper and flower from Prima, vintage image from Crafty Secrets, chipboard heart from Maya Road, buttons and twine from Papertrey Ink, ticket stub from Tim Holtz, rubberstamp bird cage image from Basic Grey, border punch and glitter from Martha Stewart and misc. cabbage roses ribbon. I know looking at this card you're probably wondering........where is the circle? Believe me there is a scalloped circle under everything! :)
Well, off to post my card and then to the grocery store, plan a meal and finish my laundry - all things I neglect when creating! ;) Have a wonderful day and create something spectacular today! Cathy xx :)

Sugar and Spice - CardPatterns Sketch #57
I will call this my "late afternoon post" and my last post for the day. Having had my Grandson this morning, I didn't get as many cards completed as I hoped, but I did manage to squeeze in a couple. This one was created this week for CardPatterns Sketch #57. A simple sketch, one that could be either dressed up or dressed down. So....I decided to dress er' up a bit. ;)
Papers used are from Websters Pages, chipboard frame from Tattered Angels, glitter and border punch from Martha Stewart, ink from Tim Holtz, paper flowers from Prima, buttons and twine from Papertrey Ink, rubberstamped sentiment (unknown), Cabbage Roses ribbon and pearl adhesives all have been added.
Off to post my card........have a wonderful evening! Cathy xx :)

little one - Get Sketchy #31
This morning, while his Mommy attended class, I babysat my little 2 month old Grandson Trevor, and managed to squeeze (barely) this card in for this week's challenge at Get Sketchy. I wondered about all you young Mommies out there - how do you do it? When do you manage to squeeze time in for all your beautiful creations?
Maybe, it has something to do with my age (do ya think?), but I'm not sure if I remember how I did it! :)
Well, this is the sketch that I had to work with and what a great one it is! Since, I had my "little one" with me this morning, what better than to design a baby card? Soft pastels, glitter, flowers, buttons and pearls. Oooh baby!
I created this card using papers and embellishment from Melissa Frances, chipboard star from Melody Ross, glitter from Martha Stewart, paper flower and chipboard heart from Prima, twine and rubberstamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink, misc. button, pearl adhesives and Cabbage Roses ribbon.
Off to post my card and then back to the table! I have another card that I would like to post later this afternoon. Have a great day! Cathy xx :)

hello - Caardvarks Lacy Days Challenge
As I piece together this last card for the night......I have to say I am so lucky to have such an understanding husband who supports this addiction of mine! As I walk around with brown stained fingers, pieces of thread on my sweater, and asking him to look at yet another card - I know that he truly loves me! :) I am sure most of you can relate.
This is my last card for tonight and I wanted to squeeze it in for all of you night owls. I want you all to know that I truly appreciate all your wonderful comments - it is one of the highlights of my day! :)
This card was created for Caardvarks Lacy Days Challenge using papers from Fancy Pants, crocheted trim and paper flower from Prima, ticket from Jenni Bowlin, decorative straight pin from Maya Road, rubberstamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink, rubberstamped image from Unity Stamp (have you seen these new rubberstamps yet - awesome!), vintage pattern, rhinestone adhesives, misc. rhinestone adhesives, and Cabbage Roses ribbon.
Time for bed - dreaming of what I can come up with for tomorrow. Enjoy your evening -

Play - Play Date Cafe Challenge #22
This weeks challenge at The Play Date Cafe was exactly that.....a challenge. These colors were tough to tie together, but I found paper that was within the color range and took off from there. The paper that I used was from Cosmo Cricket along with the vintage image. The chipboard heart and stick pin was from Maya Road, glitter from Martha Stewart, paper flower from Prima, twine and buttons from Papertry Ink, ticket from Tim Holtz, misc. crocheted trim and Cabbage Roses ribbon.
This vintage image gives us all hope that soon we will be hearing the kid's around the neighborhood out having fun in the warm weather again!! Hope you all have a great day - and have fun creating! Cathy :)

Miss You - The Shabby Tea Room - Challenge #2
The top of the week and yet another challenge. As I said in my previous post, I spent the weekend surfing the net and came upon this beautiful shabby chic challenge blog - The Shabby Tea Room. It is sooo well done from the banner to the blinkie, to the guest designers to the design team, to the overall feel of the entire blog. I applaud you, Debbie Marcinkiewicz for providing us all with such a wonderful resource of inspiration! :)
Based off of this weeks challenge requirements, we were told to create something that was Spring inspired and had some stitching.
This card was created with just that in mind. Papers and flowers used were from Prima, chipboard frame from Tattered Angels, vintage image from Crafty Secrets, glitter from Martha Stewart, buttons, twine and rubberstamped sentiment from Papertry Ink, Cabbage Roses Ribbon, and decorative pin from Maya Road.
I have seen the Robins this week, so hopefully the Spring weather is just around the corner. Have a wonderful week and keep creating! Cathy xx :)

Pink Lemonade - PDCC #21
Happy Sunday! One of the most wonderful things about the internet is being able to surf the web looking for subjects that interest you, and this weekend I did just that! I came upon this awsome site - The Play Date Cafe. Each week they post a new color challenge and you design something based off of that pallete. It doesn't have to be a card. It can be anything!! They have a wonderful lineup of designers to inspire you - so be sure to check them out. :)
This card was designed based off of PDCC's pallete - A medium pink, light pink and light yellow. I used paper and flowers from Prima (of course), chipboard frame from Tattered Angels, glitter from Martha Stewart, handstamped butterfly image from Papertry Ink, misc. pearl adhesives, buttons, crocheted trim and seam binding ribbon. It reminds me of Pink Lemonade!! :)
Off to post my card......enjoy your day and keep creating! It keeps you sane in this crazy world! Cathy xx :)

Dream - CPS -Sketch 158
Sunday........and another rainy day! I'm going to take this as a positive and have hopes that Spring is just around the corner! :)
This card was created using this weeks sketch at CPS - sketch 158.
Papers used from K&Company and Prima. Pearls and large flower from Prima, ticket from Tim Holtz, misc. crocheted trim, velvet leaves altered using GlimmerMist and ribbon from my stash.
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Today, I am off to take a peek at my Son's new apartment and help him measure for blinds. Yes, my baby is leaving the nest and tempting to live on his own. It should be interesting....he has already told me that he will need my help on teaching him to grocery shop and how to do his laundry! Have a great day! Cathy xoxo :)

Moxie Fab's - Tuesday Trigger
I have been oohing and aahing my way thru Moxie Fab's blog for a few weeks now and have finally decided this was the week to participate in the Tuesday Trigger. This weeks trigger was a beautiful serene image from Alicia Thelen. An image, where you image yourself enjoying a hot cup of tea with a newspaper as you glance up occasionally to catch a glimpse of a bird outside your window.
This card was created using the color scheme given and I decided to add my own little touch. Papers were from my misc. stash, decorative pins from Maya Road, flower from Prima, vintage image from Crafty Secrets, twill from Papertrey Ink, rhinestones and handstamped flourish also have been added.
Off to continue my oohing and aahing at the list of participants this week at Moxie Fab World! Have a wonderful evening and have fun creating - Cathy :)

Tomorrow is a new Day - CPS #157
"Tomorrow is a new Day" was designed based off this week's sketch #157 at CPS. Once again, I used the beautiful shabby chic papers and flowers from Prima's new line. I am so inspired by these papers and I have already put in my second order for more! I have machine stitched and inked along with using a scalloped border and scalloped circle punch. The chipboard butterfly is from Tattered Angels. I inked the edges and added Martha Stewart glitter. The center button is from a Prima Flower that I removed for a prior card and added something else. The twine and rubberstamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
I hope you don't get tired of this line of paper, but I really feel the possibilities are endless! There are many more cards to come using this line along with all the beautiful flowers! If you haven't had a chance to check them out........do so! You'll have so much fun! Have a great day and have fun creating! Cathy :)
