Easter Wishes - CPS #155

Looking out my window on this cold and windy Sunday evening, the snow covering everything in a soft white blanket, one may wonder why I chose to make an Easter card. Looking thru my collection of newly purchased papers.........I once again reached for this beautiful shabby collection from Prima. The soft Robin-egg's blue and the washed out pinks it just shouted SPRING! CPS made it very easy to design by using this weeks sketch #155.

This card was created using Prima's Shabby Chic line, Martha Stewarts paper doily, rhinestone adhesives, handstamped sentiment from Papertry Ink, distressing ink from Tim Holtz, scruched and dyed silk seam binding, decorative pin from Maya Road, and vintage image.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek - have a great week! Cathy :)

~Prima Picks~

It's the most wonderful time of the year..........CHA and Prima! Out with the old and in with the new! All those wonderful cliche's truly apply to Prima's debut of their Shabby Chic line! I am one of the very lucky, who has had the opportunity to purchase pieces from this line of which I designed this card. I absolutely love this line, and when I went back for seconds, it was already sold out. No need to fret.......I am on a waiting list. A superb shabby line - kudo's to you Prima!!!!

This card was created using papers from Prima's Shabby Chic line, Melissa Frances resin corner, Martha Stewart silk ribbon and doily,
Maya Road decorative pin, misc. crocheted trim, Tim Holtz distressing ink and vintage image from Blackberry Designs. Handstamped sentiment using Papertrey Ink stamps.

This is just the beginning of what I have in store for you using these beautiful papers. I also picked up some dreamy paper roses, and the pearl and rose swirls.

I also want to let you in on a little secret for those of you who don't know......Prima's Fairtytale roses (white) are wonderful when using GlimmerMist by Tattered Angels. A little spritz here and a little spritz there and voila' you can have any shade of rose you want. Give it a try!

Have a wonderful weekend and happy creating! Cathy :)

"Many are The Stars I see,....

but in my eye no star like thee". Although, some think of Valentine's Day as yet another Hallmark holiday, I think of it as a day where we recognize the one we love. A special day set aside from the rest of the 365 days, where we take the time to make that someone feel extra-special. My DH would argue that point because he said that I make him feel very special everyday! It isn't hard for me because he is - very special. I love him with all my heart, soul, mind and body. He is my best friend, lover and soulmate. I am so lucky to have him in my life! :)

With all of that said, I am sad to see Valentine's Day come to an end. All those yummy pinks, hearts, flowers, and glitter that I so love to work with. Time to move on to Spring! Flowers and bright colors.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day - Cathy :)

I'm a Grandma!

It's a official.....I'm a Grandma. Trevor Patrick was born January 18, 2010 at 11:35 a.m. He weighed 7lbs. 15.5 oz. and was 20 inches long. He has the most beautiful head of dark hair I have ever seen along with Kelsey's nose and Corey's lips. He is healthy and seems content at the moment. Mommy and Daddy are doing well. Thank God, it was an easy delivery for Kelsey. I am so proud of my Son, he was there during the whole delivery and told me afterwards, he never knew what women had to do to bring children into this world. He said he saw and did more than any man he ever knew and was so proud of Kelsey. I am proud of them both - I know they will make wonderful parents. I know it won't be easy for either of them - but hey - who is it easy for?

I am just going to sit back and enjoy every moment of this little "nugget". I am going to do what every Grandma does and that is spoil him, love him and kiss him from head to toe! I am just so thrilled to have him and thank God that he is healthy - all 10 finger and 10 toes! :) It is such a rush of emotions that only a Grandmother can relate to.....it brings back so many memories of when your children were born and when you look at that tiny little face, it's hard to image that that much time has gone on and now your "baby" is having a baby. Time goes by sooo quickly enjoy every moment with your babies as I will enjoy every moment with my big "babies" and now this sweet precious little one. Have a great weekend - "Grandma Cathy" xx :)

~To my Valentine~

Today is my future Grandson's due date and here I sit waiting. Not a twitch, a tremor or a contraction has been felt by Kelsey. My son and she are both so anxious for this little boy to arrive and so am I. I have received phone calls all week from friends and family wondering if anything, and my answer has been "no, nothing". My Father thought today would be the day because it is his birthday. Kelsey and Corey think that maybe it will be Monday because that is her birthday. The doctor said that she will induce Kelsey on Tuesday morning if nothing happens over the weekend. Either way, by this time next week, I will have a little Grandson in my arms. I have thought many a night as I fall asleep, what will this boy look like? Will he have Kelsey's beautiful dark hair and hazel eyes? Corey's little chin and full lips? Will he be a big baby or a small baby?
How will he come into this world........and there is only one answer. He will come into this world surrounded by so much love. Kelsey has a large family as do we and this little boy will always have so many aunt's, uncles, cousins and not to mention Grandparents who love him, guide him and protect him. Oh boy, I'm getting all teary eyed again just thinking about him - I just can't wait to hold him, sing to him and yes even design for him. I have already started working on all kinds of projects just for him. :) Enough, I promise to post pictures of our newest addition next week! :)

This little card was made today - just a little of this and a little of that and voila'. Daisy D paper,
Tattered Angels - angel wings, Crafty Secrets vintage image, Martha Stewart paper doily and ribbon, buttons from Papertrey Ink, misc., flowers from Prima, misc. ricrac and rhinestone adhesives. Enjoy your evening and thanks for looking! :) Cathy xx

Be Mine - 2S4U - Kazan's Sketch #43

Happy New Year everyone! This is my first entry of the new year and I'm excited to be starting off with yet another great sketch from 2S4U - #43 by Kazan. I have put away all the holiday paper and other misc. doo-dads, only to bring out......yep, you guessed it - Valentine paper! I just love reds and all the beautiful pinks not to mention hearts. Just can't get enough of them.

Just a mish-mash of products used here. Papers from Making Memories and Pink Paisley. The sentiment from Pink Paisley, chipboard heart from heidi grace, misc. ribbon and paper doily.

Lot's and lot's of snow here today and very cold. So, it's safe to say that I'm not budging from the scrap table. So, off I go. Have a great weekend! Cathy xx :)

~Just a Little Christmas Note~

The countdown is on......Christmas will be here before you know it. Yesterday, my DH took a vacation day from work and we spent the day together Christmas shopping. The mall was filled with beautiful decorations, music, the train and of couse, Santa! The endless parade of strollers and crying children brought back quite a few memories, but we battled on making what I hoped were our final purchases. My goal was to have all the shopping done, the packages wrapped and under the tree by the end of the weekend. Needless to say, about half way thru the day, (I still had more in me) my DH said "are you ready to go?" I said, "well, I guess so". I knew he had to ref basketball later in the evening, so I thought maybe he wanted to get a rest in. So, we left only to hit bumper-to-bumper traffic. Finally we arrived home and he asked what I was going to do and I told him that I was going to sit down and make some Christmas cards and then I asked "why"? "Oh, I'm just going to go out for a little bit and pick up a couple of things." Now, I thought this a little strange because we were just at the mall. He was only going up town to do some local shopping, but still, I thought this strange. So, after he returned with several purchases in hand, I think I finally figured it out. My "type" of shopping slows him down. He knew exactly what he wanted to get certain people and that was all he was there for. I on the other hand, like to search for the perfect gift and sometimes that takes a long time. Men do shop differently than woman!! ;)

Well, this is one of the cards that I made while the DH was out on his shopping spree. Filled with goodies - this card turned out just like I had hoped. I hope you all have finished your shopping - Christmas is coming! Have a wonderful day - Cathy xx :)
