Finally........a HOT sunny day here in Chicago and would you believe no rain? We are suppose to be near 90 today, and it's about time! DH will be working on opening up our pool and catching up on some long over due yard work.
My month long guest spot has come to an end at Heart Song Designs, and I want to thank Leah for the invitation, and trusting me to just "go with the flow" with her designs! For those of you who have not had a chance to visit Heart Song Designs, please do! Leah's designs are just darling! :)
This card was created using "Hot Air Balloon" and DP's from Little Yellow Bicycle. Alot of paper piecing once again, twine and a button, and a perfect sentiment from PTI.

celebrate today - Sassy Cheryl's #64 and City Crafter #57
Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a wonderful day. The weather here today in Chicago was just lovely. Sunny and blue and in the 80's, but we're in for another change. Storms are rolling in as I sit here and type! :(
This card was created based off of this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's - use a digital image and create on Kraft Cardstock and City Crafter - stripes and dots. I used this darling image - I Pledge Allegiance. Technique used was paper piecing and coloring with Copics.
DP from Melissa Frances, cardstock, ribbon, twine and stamped sentiment from PTI.
Off to post my card.....thanks for taking a peek! Enjoy the rest of your evening! Cathy xx :)

wishing you sunshine - Sassy Cheryl's - Show Me #25
Just a quick post.....I came upon this wonderful shop of the most adorable digital images this weekend - Sassy Cheryl's. Looking thru Cheryl's shop, you will have the toughest time narrowing her gorgeous images to just a few. I know I did, but I certainly will be back for more! :)
There are several opportunities to win some free digital images thru Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog, and Sassy Cheryl's blog as well. So, be sure to check it out. I promise you won't be disappointed! :)
Here is a card, I just finished up with this darling image - Watermelon Bee Stamp. Isn't she adorable? I paper pieced and colored with my Copics. DP from Prima, cardstock, twine, banner die and rubberstamp sentiment from PTI, misc. pearl adhesives, button and shabby seam binding ribbon.
I also, wanted to enclosed a photo of my scrap table. One of Cheryl'schallenges is to post a photo of what you're working on right now. Well.......right now, I'm going to be working on cleaning up my mess! :)

Blooming good day! - CFC3
Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a "blooming good day"! :) I managed to squeeze some time in this afternoon creating, and I feel refreshed after a long week. There's nothing like spending time in my craftroom, windows open and the radio on - very therapeutic! :)
This card was created based off of this week's challenge at Cas-ual Fridays Challenge - bring on the bling. Well, for those of you who know me.....I can bring on the bling, but I toned it down quite a bit for this card. :)
Cardstock PTI, stamps Pure Innocence for My Favorite Things, paper from Prima, Echo Park and Creative Imaginations, Baker's Twine from The Twinery, misc. paper doily and rhinestone adhesives and of course....Copics.
Off to post my card.....have a nice evening! Cathy xx :)

Soaring by to say hi - Heartsongs Designs
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. I had an overnight with my Grandson Trevor who manages to keep me quite busy. His new fascination is balloons - so we played with the balloons ALOT. :) I made it a learning experience though, and worked in "up and down", "big and little" and of course colors.
This is my third week as Guest Designer for Heartsong Designs and I have to say, I am having so much fun with Leah's designs. :) This card is more CAS than the one last week, but I want to show you how versatile Leah's designs are.
This card was created based off of this kite image. I decided once again to paper piece this image using DP's from Echo Park. Kraft cardstock and handstamped sentiment from PTI, Baker's Twine from The Twinery and misc. buttons.
Thanks for stopping by - have a super week! Cathy xx :)

DP's are from Echo Park, chipboard heart and decorative pin from Maya Road, paper flower from Prima, stamped sentiment from PTI, misc. paper doily, seam binding ribbon, resin angel and glass glitter.

Sweet Baby - Heart Songs Designs and OCL64
Happy Monday, and welcome to my second week as Guest Designer with Heart Songs Designs. I am also entering this card in this week's challenge at Our Craft Lounge - challenge: paper piecing. How perfect is that? :)
This week, I chose this sweet little image - "Baby buggy". I decided to paper piece this image as opposed to coloring it in with Copics. With that being said....all the wooden details were cut with my Exacto knife and pieced together with the other pieces that were handcut.
DP's from Creative Imaginations, paper flower from Prima, chipboard heart from Maya Road, stamped sentiment from PTI, misc. seam binding ribbon, decorative pins and paper doily.

Happy Mother's Day to all who are Mom's! I hope you all have a wonderful day planned with your families. My DH will be returning later from the Kentucky Derby at about which time my kid's should be returning home from their weekend! As will the laundry and questions about "what's to eat?" Oh, the joys of being a Mom, but would we have it any other way? :)
This card was created based off of this week's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges - "April Shower's bring May Flowers - let's see flowers, DYSU - the color purple and PaperPlay - "Show us your Style". It's hard to believe that we are in the month of May here in Chicago - it never seems to stop raining! :(
DP's used are from Prima as well as the flower, chipboard frame from Maya Road, resin egg and bird from K&Co., stamped sentiment from PTI, clock hands from Tim Holtz, misc. paper doily, rhinestone adhesives and corrugated cardboard.
Thanks for taking a peek - enjoy your Sunday! Cathy xx :)

You Did It! - PDCC80 and CFC1
I decided to stick with my theme of Clean & Simple tonight, and create this card for The Play Date Cafe, and for a second entry in Cas-ual Fridays.
I had alot of fun with this one! I Googled maps for Orange County, CA and printed it off on cardstock from PTI. It personalizes it a bit especially if you have a "college-bound" student or someone headed in a specific direction. :)
Cardstock, frame, sentiment and VW stamp from PTI, Mandarin Baker's Twine from the Twinery, and misc. button.
Thanks for stopping by - have a great evening and I'll be back tomorrow with something not so CAS. Cathy xx :)

dreams - CFC1 and FLT139
TGIF - finally the weekend has arrived. My DH is in Kentucky with his buddies for the Derby, and I am left behind for a weekend of scrappin' - awww poor me - NOT! It gives me time to create and play along with some fun challenges! :)
This card was created based off of CAS-ual Fridays Challenge - a super new challenge site filled with a talented DT challenging us all to create "Clean and Simple". Now, this is a challenge for me. I couldn't help looking at this card and thinking it needed something else, but sitting on my hands, I left it CAS. :) I also based my design off of this week's sketch at Clean and Simple.
DP's from Pink Paislee, cardstock, twine, ink and sentiment from PTI, stamp from K&Company - that's simple! :)

You're as sweet as honey - CR84FN26
Happy Wednesday! We're halfway to the weekend folks! :)
I had some time this evening to play along with one of my favorite challenges, Mona's CR84FN. Aren't these colors beautiful? That's one of my favorite reasons for playing along - Mona challenges us to create with colors that most of us haven't even thought of using. Thank you Mona! :)
DP's from KaiserCraft and Webster's Pages, Kraft Cardstock, diecuts, and stamped images and sentiment from PTI, chipboard button from Webster's Pages, flower from Prima, misc. ribbon and button.
